Outcome-Based Learning Aligned with the South African Skills Development Act
Our training programmes are designed to align with the South African Skills Development Act. They are “outcome-based” to ensure learners understand the subject matter for practical application. Our approach aims to improve learners’ skills and job performance, leading to better outcomes.
Skills Development Services
Customised Training Programmes
We collaborate with our clients to create personalised, outcome-based training materials that meet their training and upskilling needs.
Our process begins with a thorough skills gap analysis, forming the foundation for our customised training programmes. At our core, we believe in collaboration. We do not just offer solutions; we work closely with human resources, learning and development teams, and senior management to identify the ideal training solution.
This approach ensures that we develop a tailored solution that addresses the unique skills requirements, involving our clients as an integral part of the process.
Experiential Learning
Our programmes are designed around outcomes-based education (OBE) and include activities demonstrating proficiency in specific skills, knowledge, or behaviours.
Importantly, our training principles are focused on students, prioritising their needs and placing learners at the core of the design process.
Notional Hours
Our program structure meets the required notional hours for short courses, skills programmes, or qualifications. Notional hours refer to the average estimated time a student needs to attend all classes, prepare for tests, and complete assignments and homework. Each credit is equivalent to ten notional hours.
Trained by Professionals
Our training programmes are facilitated, assessed, and moderated by experienced subject matter experts accredited by SETA and QCTO. These professionals have extensive experience in facilities management and the built environment and hold senior management roles across various sectors, ensuring the highest quality of training.
Engaging Content
Our training programmes align with the Facilities Management ISO 41001:2018 standard and the specific OBE requirements of the program. Subject matter experts contribute to developing our training materials, ensuring learners gain relevant and up-to-date knowledge that they can directly apply in their work environments.
Flexible Training Formats
In-Person, Blended Online, and On-Site Corporate Training
We offer in-person classroom or blended online training via MS Teams for theory-based programmes. Our technical workshops for the Handyman training programme are based in Cape Town and Johannesburg. We conduct training for larger corporate groups at the client’s premises, wherever possible.
We encourage learners to provide feedback at the end of their training programmes as it helps us enhance our content, material and approach. Learners must submit a Portfolio of Evidence (POE) for accredited skills and qualification programmes to receive course or qualification credits upon being deemed competent.
Upon completion of our training programmes, learners receive certificates of attendance, completion and competence, depending on their level of participation and performance.
